Without further ado – “UNCLE JACK” is FOR SALE!

THE TRIUMPH TRANS-AMERICAN Charity Drive 2009 has finished – and “uncle jack”, the 1973 Triumph Stag restored by several dedicated members of Illinois Sports Owner’s Association under the watchful eye of ‘Stagmeister’ Joe Pawlak, is for sale to the highest bidder – as of now!

If you would like to bid to buy “uncle jack” this is your opportunity to do so!

The Event Organisers, as defined by the following people named below, are anxious to ensure the bidding process is made as easy as possible and for it to be scrupulously fair – as proceeds from the car will go to charity. The Event organisers are:

 

·                    JOHN MACARTNEY, resident in the United Kingdom – TTACD Concept Originator and “uncle jack’s” driver throughout the event.

·                    GLENN MERRELL, resident in Colorado, USA – TTACD North American Event Co-ordinator and principal TTACD Event Administrator

·                    JOE PAWLAK, resident in Illinois, USA – Responsible for all aspects of the car’s restoration and preparation between February 2008 and June 2009. The title for the car is held in Joe Pawlak’s name.

 

These three people are jointly responsible for ensuring the sale and legal transfer of the vehicle to its new owner, meet all aspects of United States Federal and State Law.

 

As a potential bidder, you should be aware from the outset that an interest in buying “uncle jack” has already been expressed by a number of people in the United States. That said, the car will be sold to the highest bidder – regardless of his or her location, either inside or outside the continent of North America. However, potential overseas buyers should be aware that all costs of delivery, preparation, documentation and all other related fees are to their cost and ADDITIONAL to the price paid to buy the car.

Because of declared interests to purchase and having been advised of likely starting bids, the Reserve Price for the Stag has been set at US$25,000 – twenty five thousand US dollars.

Ideally, the Event Organisers would be pleased to conclude the bidding for this car by midday (noon – US Pacific time) on Saturday 3rd October 2009. This will coincide with the conclusion of the combined “Triumphest” and VTR North American Triumph Challenge currently being held at San Luis Obispo, California, USA – and for the sale to be announced at the Gala Dinner that same evening. In the event the Organisers feel that bids are insufficient in terms of the number of bids submitted or their actual value, they reserve the right to continue the auction and for it to finally finish at midnight (US Mountain time) on 31^st October 2009.

 

HOW TO BID

You can only bid by email. To submit a bid, open a new email message and address it jointly to John Macartney (macartney.john@yahoo.co.uk) and to Glenn Merrell (gamerrell@qwest.net)

 

·                    In the subject line write My bid to buy Uncle Jack

·                    In the body of the message, state your bid in US dollars in numbers and words. Bids in currencies other than US dollars – for example Australian, Canadian, New Zealand dollars, Euros and Pounds Sterling will be rejected.

·                    At the end of your message, add your:

TRACKING BID PROGRESS

 The Organisers will ensure that timely updates on the bidding progress will be posted on this website at the following times:

 

Friday 2^nd October 2009

10.00am

Midday

3.00pm

6.00pm

9.00pm

 

Saturday 3^rd October 2009

8.00am

10.00am

11.30am

Noon – auction ends for the day

 

All the above times will be US Pacific time. All bids received by email will be printed and an acknowledgement will be sent saying “Bid received. Thank you.”

‘Last minute’ bids on Saturday 3^rd October will be collated in ascending value sequence. In the event that two identical bids are received in the period between 11.30am and noon, the earlier of the two bids defined by the time the email is received and that time appearing on the printed bid, will be deemed to have priority over the other same-value bid.

If the value of bids does not meet the joint and unanimous opinion of the Event Organisers, the auction will continue and all those who have submitted bids will be notified of that decision by email, together with additional information on how the auction will continue.

 

IF THE AUCTION IS CONCLUDED ON 3^rd OCTOBER 2009

The Organisers will jointly agree with the successful bidder on the most practical method of moving and storing the car to another location prior to delivery / handover to its new owner.

 

FINALLY …

According to two leading US automotive magazines, no other car has travelled as far as “uncle jack” since 27^th June 2009 to fundraise for three international charities.

Because of this, “uncle jack”  has made North American motoring history and fully deserves a loving home where he can be enjoyed and driven. He is a truly superb example of a Triumph Stag and his success in completing this marathon journey – effectively problem-free, has amazed many people who were confident the event would fail soon after the Start.
